PCMS
The Lady Quaker Golfers came in 4th out of 7 at the Mid State Conference . It was a tough match and they didn’t do as well as they could have, but overall, it was a great season and fun was had by all.
The Lady Quakers tennis team defeated Raymond Park Middle School 5-0. Winning at singles were Lexi Blevins, Sylvia Robertson and Lael Allen. Winning at doubles were the teams of Kristen Lees and Arden Allen and Maddie Hardwick and Kayla Lee. Also winning on reserve were the doubles teams of Danielle Reel and Abby Lawrence.
The P.C.M.S. men's tennis team defeated Raymond Park Middle School of Warren Central by a score of 5 - 0. Winners for the Quakers were Jacob Oehser, Clayton Meranda, Blake Bush, Colin Dixon, Jack Cavanaugh, Brock Naaman, Zach Golay, Tyler Long, Coty Curl, Carl Robertson, Michael Bohney, Jacob Hopper, and Connor McGinn.
The Plainfield Girls Cross Country Team are your new Mid-State Champions! Completing the event with a perfect score, the six other teams present were no match for the Plainfield Quakers. Bringing the team to an astounding victory were Brynn Olinger 1st place, Allison Abbe 2nd place, Kylie Dostin 3rd place, Megan Broman 4th place, Kylie Cason 5th place, Rachel Day 12th place, and Katrina Taivalkoski with 13th place. The Boys team put up a tough fight as well, coming in at 4th place. Highlights of the boys race were Robert Weisbach 2nd place, Xavier Hopper 13th place, Joel Thompson 17th place, Justin Pelkey 25th place, Michael Janisch 27th place, Jorge Campana 35th place, and Joey Parker 44th place. Great job Quakers!
The Lady Quakers soccer team played Doe Creek Middle School on 10/8/08 in a re-match from a 2-2 tie game earlier in the season. A much improved Plainfield team owned the night and prevailed 5-3 in a hard fought match. Scoring for the Quakers were Marisela Sanchez assisted by Bailey Stewart, Sophie Warren assisted by Allison Abbe, Allison Abbe assisted by Marisela Sanchez, Sophie Warren assisted by Brittany Davis and Brooke Hollingsworth assisted by Marisela Sanchez. A very strong defensive stand was made by Amanda Trump, Lena Charles, Hannah Marsh, Kendal Baker and keeper Lauren Gardner.
The Lady Quaker tennis players went into the first round of conference , and despite injuries and illness, came out as a 3-2 winner! Posting wins for the Quakers were Jessica Rigdon at #1singles and the #1 doubles team of Kristen Lees and Arden Allen and our #2 doubles team of Sylvia Robertson and Maddie Hardwick. Great Job ladies.
The P.C.M.S. men's tennis team lost a hard-fought match in the opening round of the conference tourney to Mooresville by a 3 - 2 score. Winners for the Quakers were Jacob Oehser at #1 singles and Colin Dixon and Jack Cavanaugh at #1 doubles.
The 8th grade football team played Mooresville in a battle of highway 267 Mid-State Conference foes, with Plainfield winning 22-14. Scoring for Plainfield were Tim Baute on a 5 yard reception from Jon Aldridge, Cole Johnson on a 5 yard run, and Luke Jones on a 10 yard reception from Johnson. Aldridge also completed two 2-point conversion passes to Johnson.
The Seventh Grade Football Team defeated Mooresville 8-6. The Quakers fell behind early 6-0, but rallied back to take the lead on a two yard touchdown run by Tim Grant. The two point conversion was converted by Grant Weigel on a three yard pass from Brady Nicholas. The entire defense played an impressive game causing two turnovers. Grant Weigel provided the Quakers with an interception and Zach Richardson picked up a fumble and returned it forty yards. In fifth quarter action Jake Wiggs provided a spark early on with a superb hit that resulted in a tackle for a five yard loss. On the offensive side of the ball, Alec Caprarella completed passes that helped move the team down the field.
